Route to La Cazarelle

Updated: February 10, 2020

Many of our guests get lost when they come to La Cazarelle. It is essential to read the advice presented here.

This page should be read BEFORE you get on the road. Do not read your smartphone while driving
.
Stop by the roadside at a safe place to continue reading.

La Cazarelle is located in a part of the village of Saint-Jean-de-Cuculles protected by a no entry sign which is nevertheless authorized to residents. Since most GPS devices, including Waze and Google Maps, respect the traffic rules, they refuse to use this prohibited direction. As a result they find it difficult to find their way and lead you to make big detours, sometimes trying to make you take roads that do not even exist.

The solution is to enter a replacement address in your GPS which will bring you right in front of the no entry to be crossed. The end of the route is then very simple.

In addition to the local difficulty of the no entry, there is a second difficulty caused by the new motorway recently built splitting the A9. As most of the GPS are not up to date they will miss the good outings and it quickly becomes a nightmare in case you arrive by the A9 motorway from Béziers but also in the case where you arrive by the A9 motorway from Nimes.
